And what a performance it was from the preem of Nova Scotia.
So lost, so out of touch, so far from reality he was on this last day that when asked by opposition leader Darrell Dexter for an economic update, Rodney starts singing and dancing like no one else was in the room.
He brags – brags! – about the number of jobs “created” in Nova Scotia in the last year and the low unemployment rate in October.
We have a global financial meltdown, plummetting oil prices, a credit crunch and dire economic forecasts from no less a body than the OECD.
And our little Rodo waxes rhapsodic about Nova Scotia’s great economy.
Does the man have no clue?
Does he not understand that low oil prices = declining revenues in Alberta = less money for Ottawa = lower equalization payments for government-supported Little Tartan Republics like Nova Scotia?
Does he not get that a commodity-exporting nation like Canada will suffer in a world wide recession because people no longer want to buy as much of their lumber, lobster and bitumen?
Does he not see that free market businesses and economies like Alberta take the hit before government- funded little dependents like Nova Scotia?
HAs he looked at the TSX lately? Or does he know what the TSX is?
Hubris Rodney? With a backdrop such as this, you play the hubris card?
Maybe he needs to hear it like this: the economic downturn will mean less slop for the political trough in the Little Tartan Republic. How does that sound Rodney?
Are you sure you don’t want to open the leg. for another week and start taking this crisis seriously? Like the rest of the world?
Or is the Little Tartan Republic immune to all that stuff happening everywhere else?
Saints preserve us from such ignorance.
We voted for them…
WE didn’t
