Once upon a time in a small and far-away Tartan Kingdom called Nova Scotia, there was a young vassal called Rodo McDodo.
Rodo ruled over his little Tartan Kingdom by sprinkling his under vassals and friendly serfs with gold dust from the kingdom’s treasure chest. Sadly, the Kingdom’s treasure chest was badly depleted by previous vassals who sprinkled faithful vassals and serfs with too much gold dust.
But Vassal Rodo seemed unaware of the problems created by a pillaged treasure, and instead of building up the treasure, he kept on sprinkling to keep the under vassals and serfs happy.
But in some parts of the Tartan Kingdom there was no gold dust and these serf peasants were growing restless.
So there were plans made for a big plant in Goldboro. And that plant would create more gold to sprinkle in Goldboro. But there was a small problem. They had nothing to do in the plant.
So Vassal Rodo and his a group of his under vassals set sail for the far away land of Qatar. They were going to visit the King of Qatar who promised them stuff to process in the Goldboro plant.
But the King of Qatar was a secretive man and he made Vassal Rodo promise to keep the details of his voyage to himself. So Rodo did not tell his heralds or the peasants who were paying for his voyage. He couldn’t even tell them if his voyage would bear fruit for the peasants because Rodo didn’t know.
The peasants and heralds were not pleased. And no wonder. Vassal Rodo had made a mess of things before with the peasants’ money. Who was to say he wouldn’t mess up again? And the peasants were growing restless. Some were even calling for a new Chief Vassal in the little Tartan Kingdom.
So the secretive voyage to the King of Qatar was important to Rodo and his faithful under vassals. If it failed, there would be burning spears awaiting back in the Tartan Kingdom. And Vassal Rodo’s services may no longer be required. And who would the under vassals cling to then?
Stay tuned for more on Vassal Rodo’s visit with the King of Qatar.
Would the King give Rodo some gold dust to sprinkle in Goldboro?
Would Rodo return triumphant?
Would high gas prices make a plant in a far away post like Goldboro too expensive? Would other plants closer to the centre steal Goldboro’s gold dust?
